Smith Cashion & Orr, PLC, based in Nashville, Tennessee, has served the construction industry since 1998. Founding partner Richard McCallister Smith concentrates his practice in these areas. A Nashville native, he earned a B.A. in Business Administration and a J.D. from the University of Mississippi (1983, 1986), practiced with Manier, Herod, Hollabaugh & Smith, and co‑founded Smith Cashion & Orr, PLC in 1998. He is admitted to the Tennessee Bar; the U.S. District Courts for the Middle, Western, and Eastern Districts of Tennessee; the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit; the U.S. Court of Federal Claims; the Tennessee Supreme Court; and the United States Supreme Court. He is a member of the Nashville, Tennessee, and American Bar Associations, has lectured for industry and professional organizations, and co‑authored A Practical Guide to Tennessee Construction Law and Tennessee Construction Law, with additional contributions to Fifty‑State Construction Lien and Bond Law (1992).
