Erica Grand Brown has extensive experience with complex and high-net worth family and matrimonial cases. She understands the sensitive nature of difficult family law matters and is dedicated to maintaining the privacy of her clients, which include professionals, corporate executives, entertainers, law enforcement, as well as beneficiaries of substantial family wealth and their spouses.
Ms. Brown provides clients throughout Michigan and California with exceptional legal services in all aspects of family law, including child custody and support, spousal support, property valuation and division of property, and post-divorce issues including enforcement and support and custody modifications. Her thoughtful planning and representation continues throughout clients’ matters, from the initial meeting through long after the case is resolved to ensure her clients have the professional support they need to attain their long-term objectives.
She is most noted for her pragmatic settlement-oriented approach, but also achieves great success for her clients in the courtroom. Ms. Brown has practiced family law exclusively since 2009 and has successfully resolved hundreds of cases in state courts across Michigan and California, where she is licensed. Before opening her own firm, Ms. Brown was a partner at an elite matrimonial law firm in Birmingham, Michigan, where her practice focused on complex high-net worth and high-profile cases.
Ms. Brown is an Adjunct Professor at the Michigan State University College of Law, where she has taught Matrimonial Law since 2017. Ms. Brown was selected for Best Lawyers in America: Ones to Watch in 2024 and named as one of Michigan Super Lawyers Rising Stars each year since 2022.
As a native of Metropolitan Detroit, Ms. Brown earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Ms. Brown attended Southwestern Law School in Los Angeles, where she practiced at a distinguished family law firm until 2013, when she returned to home to be part of the community in which she grew up and advance her career near family. Ms. Brown has two young children and now resides in Huntington Woods.
